NPR One App Reviews

150 add

Crashes, and full of ads

Npr One = one ad / piece. I am a fan of npr, but am disappointed with this app. I thought at first, pretty cool, but then more and more ads started coming. Now its one ad / show. You can jump over the shows, but, guess what, not the ads. Go instead to npr.org. same great shows, FAR fewer ads.

You cant skip adds

I used it once and wont use it again. There is no 15 SEC fast forward! I wonder if that is the main reason NPR developed this app :/

Good app but loading issues

The audio always keeps lagging while Im streaming any thing. This is insanely annoying when trying to listen to anything. Why cant I just download the episode and listen to it like literally every other podcast app?

Discovered so many shows

Super simple, smart. New favourite way for this Canadian NPR addict to get her daily dose.

Simple and useful!!

Great app. Always I can get what I want to listen to.

All the news you need!

Ive been a NPR fan for quite a long time now and this app is ideal if you want to get the news on the go. Clean design and nothing to distract you from the important things.

listen live favorites

I cant find a way to define multiple listen live favorite stations in this app. this is a show stopper for me and I will continue to use the old npr app which includes this feature.

Terrible

I got this app so I could listen to archived episodes of TED Radio Hour while taking my walks. As soon as I leave the house, it cuts out, never to be retrieved and I get a ridiculous message saying "oops, we goofed". Is this a wi-fi based app? I get other apps just fine while out walking. At this point, this app is useless for me.

Landscape

Overall, great app! Can you make it to where the screen will turn from portrait to landscape? That would be nice when using it on my iPad. Thank you.

Great content, but big data user

I really like this app--streaming NPR content is like giving my brain a long, leisurely workout that feels great. Big caveat, tho, is that it gulps down MBs of data like theres no tomorrow. Ive had to ration my listening at the office a bit as a result. At home or on WiFi, however, its now one of my fave apps ever. Good job, NPR!

Good only if you like hash

I have removed the app from my iPhone 6s. The sound levels are economic inconsistent, the introductions repeat 2 times Rock and sometimes 3 times, you cannot go forward 15 seconds as with podcasts, TED talks are broken up ... I will try it again in 6 months to see if it is repaired.

Not good for Podcast Listeners

My three biggest gripes with the are as follows: Frequently when I launch the App it will not load anything and requires me to double tap home, quit and reopen the app. Almost never resumes longer radio shows. No way to tell it I like a show, but listen to it somewhere else (so I can actually finish it). I used to frequently skip shows I like, now it almost never plays them, because it assumes I dont like them.

Great content.

As always with NPR, great content. The app is not as user friendly as it could be. It is hard to explore and find specific programs. Im finding Im going back to using my podcast feed.

Pretty good though can use some improvements

Overall a good way to engage listeners with content. If youre a long time podcast listener you might not find it that useful, though if youre looking for quick stories or to discover new content, its not bad at all. Theres an attempt to customize content on targeting interests.

Perfect!

Long time listener and huge fan of NPR podcasts and shows. This consolidates my favorite podcasts and also suggests new ones. This app has made it easier to discover more shows and also lets me enjoy my favorites - plus the app looks beautiful and simplistic. Worth the change :)

Listen to it all day long!

Love this app. Great for listening at work. BUT it would be great if you could download segments so you could listen underground where you cant stream.

Follower ne To Europe!

When traveling abroad, NPR cant stay behind! This is how I like it!

No sound after I downloaded the June 21 update

I used to love this app. Now I can no longer hear it. :-(

Lives up to its name!

Love everything NPR in one place. Made me way smarter just last weekend on 6 hour drive from LA to SF. Now to make truly like Pandora for NPR you need to start serving me content based on my listening habits.

Great

The best! Im getting arizona public media local newscasts now too which takes this app to a whole other level.
